The Arms of Sorrow

I'm listening to songs from Killswitch Engage's self-titled debut album (2000, not their self-titled latest which got released just this year) and their second album "As Daylight Dies" right now, and One of their songs on the second album that I like, in addition to the song standing out from the others (since it doesn't feature any of the band vocalist's trademark screams until the very end of the song), which is "The Arms of Sorrow" (open link in a new tab to listen to the song on Youtube). Props to the band for supplying me with the totally inappropriate, but very cool, title.

It's really nice to watch stars from afar. Some use telescopes to get a better view, but still, the results are pretty much the same. I, for one, enjoy such activity, given the chance. But haven't anyone wondered about what it would look like up close? Some people don't know that they see a smaller star thousands of times closer than others, and some of 'em ain't happy about it. I'm talking about the Sun. Is it at all as enjoyable watching just one star up close, than those [way] larger stars at night? Yeah, I know. Haha. People care about their eyesight enough to not stare directly at the sun...

Okay, I just lost some thoughts I'm supposed to be writing about. But hell, the essence of the crap I'm trying to throw out there is quite obvious already, that the things I just forgot to say don't even matter anymore. Okay, I'm just trying not to do a facepalm out of my stupidity of not writing the crap while it was still fresh in my noggin'.

The point is... "What is beautiful from afar, is sometimes far from beautiful [up close]."

It's better to just enjoy the beauty, than to mess around with it, risking loss of eyesight. But the risk is good, as long as you understand it well enough. If you know what I mean...

Damn, I missed posting senseless crap like this. I've got lots of ideas in my notebook to write about over here, which is about past experiences and thoughts that is quite worthwhile to be posted.

I just wish more people would read this. LOL

Slow Death By PowerPoint

I found this neat little document via my World History & Geography professor's blog, and I must say, this lot teaches a lesson worth learning. And no, this ain't the academic kind of educational crap, it's more like a "don't do this" kind of crap. Enjoy!

Killing Students With Power Point

Props to Sir Rivero and his blog (because I found this little thing there), user vijay_5kaushik of Scribd.com (for uploading the file in the first place. Just click on the name to view the dude's profile and check out more of his cool documents!), a neat document-sharing website.

The Sum Of All Fears

Have I told you guys that I really like to read novels and shit like that? I just bought new (actually old) books down at SM Manila's Booksale! Yeah, I buy books at Booksale since there are a lot of interesting books there that I haven't read before, but though they are old, at least they're still really cool! I planned to buy new books Tuesday this week, but after I asked about a duplicate copy of a book from an employee (which they didn't have, by the way), the woman told me that there's gonna be a 3-Day Sale starting Friday, this week. So, you know what I did after that? I took out my little green notebook, and wrote down stuff that I'll be getting, put the books back on respective shelves (except on this one book that I hid behind others because it's the only hardbound copy and people might beat me to it), and left. Last Friday was the first day of this 3-Day-Sale SM Manila's having, and I've to tell you, like, when I got back to the place, there was, like, a lot of books! Oh, wait, "it's a bookstore, doi!" is what you're thinking, right? It's not like that, the number of books there, like, doubled (I think). Yeah, I know, "sale, doi!" But nevertheless, that was a lot of books. So anyway, I took out my list to find the books I wanted to purchase, but I ended up finding only two of them, like what the hell man. I was thinking of getting "Politika", "Bio-Strike", "The Sum Of All Fears" (the only hardbound copy) and "The Hunt For Red October" by Tom Clancy and "The Body Farm" by Patricia Cornwell (another cool author), but turns out, I didn't bring enough money to buy everything on the list, and The Body Farm wasn't there anymore, someone must've already took it. I only ended up getting "The Sum Of All Fears" and "The Hunt For Red October" by Tom Clancy (totally cool author, dude!), and I found this cool book to give to a friend, which is called "The Man Who Loved Only Numbers (The Story of Paul Erdős and the Search For Mathematical Truth)" by Paul Hoffman, which is about the life of a mathematics genius who is, like, totally obsessed with math.

"A mathematical genius of the first order, Paul Erdős was totally obsessed with his subject—he thought and wrote mathematics for nineteen hours a day until he died. He traveled constantly, living out of a plastic bag, and had no interest in food, sex, companionship, art—all that is usually indispensable to a human life. Paul Hoffman, in his marvelous biography, gives us a vivid—and strangely moving—portrait of this singular creature, one that brings out not only Erdős's genius and his oddness, but his warmth and sense of fun, the joyfulness of his strange life."
—Oliver Sacks, Author & Neurologist

So, yeah. That's about it. I got 3 new books that I hope to read soon, well, just 2 of them, actually, since I'm going to give out the third one to some Physical Therapy dude for her birthday, along with some scented tealights. And oh, I got this set of kitchen utensils yesterday! Like there's a whole bunch of useless crap that came along this manual mixer I bought, 2 knives (a straight-edged, and a serrated) with a chopping guide, a dumpling mold, a slicer, and something that takes eyes out of pineapples, scales fish, and does some of the jobs that a paring knife could do. See this mixer looks like a plastic whisk, but you could push it down so the head would rotate. Like, mondo coolio, right? I'd use it a little later, after I eat this Vietnamese rice noodle soup with Japanese mushrooms.

Yep. Being back blogging is just way too...

Spit You Out

I feel like shit. My mind is shitty right now. I'm trying to chat with somebody right now, but I keep on getting disconnected. I can't think of anything to say, if I do think of something to say, I'd just get disconnected and forget about it. Damn it.

Just wanted to spit something out. I really needed to talk.

Props to Bullet For My Valentine for supplying me with the appropriate title. Click HERE to listen to the song.

Hope things get better soon. I hate not to be able to do shit that I already said. That is not at all...

Hearts Burst Into Fire

Again, a lot of props to my favorite metalcore band, Bullet For My Valentine, for providing me with the words which I utilized as the title of this post. It's the third track of their latest album, "Scream Aim Fire". Listen to the song HERE! [Powered by Mixpod.com]

I had your number a long time ago,

Back when we were young, but I had to grow.
Ten thousand years I’ve searched it seems and now,
Gotta get to you, won’t you tell me how?

Call me call me, Let me know you are there.
Call me call me, I wanna know you still care...
Come on now won’t you ease my mind, reasons for me to find you,
Peace of mind. What can I do to get me to you

I was just scanning through my previous blog posts in my Multiply.com site, I happen to have found this thing that I've posted last September 27, 2008 (click HERE to view it), and I just thought of posting it here, since nobody views my Multiply.com site anyways.

Oh, wait. Nobody reads my blog here too. Kind of doesn't make a difference, huh?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damn, lots of ideas to blog about, yet, I couldn't piece together my thoughts to complete all of these posts. I need to study for exams, it's lucky (funny for me to say this, since I don't believe in luck at all) enough that I did good on this World History long exam I've had last Thursday (about ancient Asian, Greek, and European Civilizations) without actually taking time to study. I don't want to take the risk again. I will still try to post stuff for my very loyal audience (population: 2; LOL)

Ah, what the hell. It doesn't matter. I just think that post is just...

Just Another Star

First of all, props to my favorite metalcore band, Bullet For My Valentine, for giving me the words to put on this post's title. It's the title of a really cool song from either of their EP albums, Bullet for My Valentine (track #5, 2004) and Hand of Blood (track #6, 2005). You could listen to this song via the (click HERE to go there) Mixpod playlist I just created.

Anyways, again, I'd like to share what happened to me today, and no, it's not gonna take me that long.

When I woke up this morning, at about 6:45, it was raining, real hard. I went on with my usual preparations for school, hoping that the rain will stop soon and the classes won't get suspended today. I'm about to leave, but it was still raining hard. Oh well, according to 2 morning TV shows, only the pre-school, elementary, and high school students will not have classes today, including mentioned universities, which didn't include mine. Cool, classes are still going on in our university, but people there will most likely think that it sucks that they had to go to school on a storming day such as this one. When I got to under the nearest LRT 1 station, which is my typical means of transportation, going to school, it was all flooded there, and people are standing by all over the place, I even saw a classmate back in high school there, and a fellow PLM student, had no idea who that person is though, but I just saw the person wearing our university's uniform. Turns out, they know each other. But about a few minutes later, the PLM sudent left. The dude said that the person is going home already, since she thinks that the classes are going to get suspended in our school anyways. After a few minutes, he even left as well, since he thought the same thing about his university. And oh, he told me that the LRT is not operational, which led me to just think about my next move. I just stood there, thinking, should I take a jeep, or just go home? But then it was announced that the LRT is back online, so I rushed up there and took a ride. Almost 9am already then, my class is supposed to start 8:30am, damn it! My first late arrival. When I got off the train, it was still raining. the outside of the station is also flooded. Damn! So, again, I wasted more time thinking about my next move, which wasted more time. But then I saw this girl, waiting for a ride just to get across the street (yes, it was THAT flooded). She's also a PLM student. So it kind of got me thinking, why not just ask the girl if she thinks that the classes will get suspended or not, if she thinks so, then I'll just head on home, since the LRT station (where I came from) is just nearby, but if not, I'll head to school to find out for myself anyways. I was going to approach her, but she seemed to be approaching me. But no, I was just too close to the corner, where all the pedicabs (basically bicycles attached to a sidecar), even the motorized ones, are heading to pick up passengers. She got into a motorized one that was only supposed to go across the street, but before any other passengers could board, I asked the driver if he could take the vehicle all the way near our school, he sort of declined because it is a little too far away, but the girl spoke up and she also wanted to go there. That makes the two of us, so the driver agreed, for a price. 40 bucks each, I agreed, so we went on. Me, seated behind the driver, I kind of got into a little chat with the driver. We were talking about the weather, and crap like that. After we got to the destination, the driver only asked us to pay 30 apiece, since we were just students, according to him. I was rummaging through my little (yeah, like a ruler's length, and a third of a ruler's width kind of little) thing where I keep my money (which used to be my pencil case, from way back in the fifth grade) when the girl took out a hundred to pay for her share of the fare, but the driver said that he doesn't have any money yet, let alone change for a hundred. I have about 70 bucks (plus some coins) in my possession that moment, so I handed the man my 70 bucks (a 50 and a 20), and proposed that I will cover all the expenses, but the man gave me back the 20 and just asked us if we had 10 bucks. The girl took out some coins to cover that part, I bid the good man a good day and that about does it for the ride. When I were walking to school, it's still raining by the way (I'm wearing a rain coat over my torso, and my backpack, plus wielding a small pink umbrella all the time) the girl followed me and insisted that she pays me back what she thinks she owes me, but I insisted (back) that she doesn't have to worry because it's on me. I arrived at the campus about 9:30am, but I saw this whiteboard outside the main entrance saying that all classes for the day are suspended in all levels. Wow. I literally broke out into a sarcastic laughter. I was, like, "Great." I was about to head on home, but the girl really insisted that she pays me the money I spent for her, and she have backup this time, her (female) friend took out 30 bucks and offered it to me, but I just said no and "It's okay, really. You don't have to." I then told the girl to return the favor not to me, but to somebody else (since I really didn't need the money, so I just thought she might see somebody else who really needs the help). I also told her that since classes are suspended, I'm heading home already. But about a second after I turned my back, the girl said "Kuya, wait! Ano nga pla name mo?" ("Hey Wait! What's your name anyways?"), I turned and said, "Dennis. Call me Dennis." then I left. Okay, so I was kidding about that last part. She didn't really get a chance to ask for my name, since I was walking a little too fast, and maybe she didn't really care. I guess she'll never know, but then again, that's already cool the way it is. Just helping out a stranger, but not just a stranger, a schoolmate after all. So after all that, I'm finally heading home.

Damn, I think this post is about the same length as the last one. Too long, huh? Oh well. Thanks for reading anyways. :)

I really wanted to go to school as scheduled today, but I guess all that happened in the past few hours were just...

AWESOME.

Kanin Pa Lang, Ulam Na!

First of all, the title is a Filipino phrase which when translated in English, means something like rice serving the job of a viand, therefore a viand is not needed any longer.

Anyways, I just wanted to share to the internet what happened to me yesterday.

After class, which happened way too early than I expected (1pm to be exact), I decided to just take my mp4 player's butt to Ever Grand Central to look for a joint there to get it fixed (finally!), after I finish applying for a library card (finally!... Again!). So after I got my library card, I went to the cafeteria to order the regular fudge caramel brownie with nuts (yum...) to go, as I leave the cafeteria, I started consuming it while walking on my way out of the university, but all of a sudden, something (or someone, to be more accurate) caught my attention. I saw GMA7 (yes, one of the giants of the Philippine Television Networks) trucks, which meant that they must be shooting again for the afternoon soap "Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin" again (yes, AGAIN), which meant that there must be actors/actresses within campus grounds, or must be on their way, so I checked the University Activity Center if there were any present, and there was, two of them, actually! One was Rich Asuncion (plays one of Maxene Magalona's best friends in the story), and Jackie Rice (one of the lead actresses; plays Maxene Magalona's younger sister in the story)! And I was, like, "Holy effin' crap on an effin' cracker!" I'm not really a fan of Rich, and so does apply to Jackie as well, but damn, dude! I just, well, "fancy" miss Rice. She's not just an cool actress, but also an nice person. I literally just stood there, eating my brownies, while staring at how real nice she looks. Oh sure, like, why not just approach the person and hope to have a good convo while shooting is a little delayed because of the downpour of the rain. She was kind of busy being applied to with makeup by her makeup artist. So, yeah, I just stood there, and I think I looked weird, until I finished my brownies, which made me realize that I really have to go, so if I do get my mp4 player fixed early that day, I could head on home and do my assignments early, so I get time to just chill. So, having left the campus, I walked to the Central Terminal station of the LRT line 1. But I just had to stop and smell the roastbeef this time. I couldn't resist it, since it's been a long while since I last had one of those, so I had a roastbeef sandwich (A.K.A. "shawarma") with cheese. I took the time to enjoy the beef, the cucumber, the tomatoes, the lettuce, the dressing, the cheese, even the unleavened circle piece of bread that makes up the sandwich, but in the process, I kind of forgot that I was supposed to just get on with the plan, which is get home sooner so I'd have time to do more stuff, since it was too good, man. After the deed has been done, a mixed feeling of fulfillment and resentment (okay, so that's a little exaggerated) that came to me, but nonetheless, I still have to get on with the plan. Blah blah blah, got there to get the player fixed, blah blah blah, they're not able to do the job since the player has a defective part which they could not replace at the moment, so I head on out, disappointed, but I just remembered to buy a pen, since my black pen gave up on my arse already. Hahaha. I was hoping to get one of those cute little... Damn it, I forgot what that thing's called, but nonetheless, they didn't have a standard pen that has a little chain and a little plastic keychain thingy attached to it, so I was a little disappointed, but I never really needed it, so I just got a 4-color pen for about 13 bucks. On my way out of the mall, I saw something that I haven't seen in a while, again. Damn Hong Kong-style (supposed to be stir-) fried noodles got me. Couldn't resist it, I had to eat again. Hahaha. I ordered jumbo with 4 pieces of beef siomai. Running out of money, and time. Yeah, great, but I really had to, don't know why though, wasn't hungry at all. Anyways, I had it to go, ate it inside a jeepney and got my butt home. And oh, I got an energy drink on the way. What a bloody day, got my funds almost depleted, and I barely had time to do my assignments. But at least I got-r-done. Haha.

What's the point of telling this to everyone?
1. I just stood before Jackie Rice, and she was really cute!

2. It was a pointless, but totally relieving day.

3. I love to eat, mostly food items of foreign origin. It's one strand of the thin rope that keeps me from falling into the 'cheap people' category.

4. I'm really proud of myself for having the initiative to get my own library card, after a little over 3 years that I've been studying in my university. ; and

5. Because you're a god, and I am not, and I just thought I'd let you go... Oh wait, that doesn't have anything to do with my post, now, does it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damn. Well, at least I had a deviation from the boring routine, plus I got to eat stuff on the way.

That's just real...

Brock Lesnar? Hell yeah!

I know this is old news (damn oxymorons) already, but it's really never too late to celebrate the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion of the World, Brock Lesnar's successful title defense against the former champion, Frank Mir at UFC 100!

The champ is here!

The match is scheduled for 5 rounds of 5 minutes each. From the first round, I knew already that Lesnar's going to win. I mean, first knockdown of the fight, Lesnar's on top, and already doing some short-range blows to the head and torso, which I think, maimed Mir, which led to his bleeding face, and a little difficulty in breathing in the next round. First knockdown of the second round, I was a little surprised that even though Lesnar was in control of the situation, he stood up, which perhaps is because of his cockiness, being a wrestler himself, he could've just carried on with the fight in his favor. Until the second knockdown. Lesnar is dominating once again, but this time, they are against the fence already, so there's almost no way out. Lesnar started again with the short-range blows to the head, which eventually led to Mir not responding, so the referee had to stop the fight with a decision. Lesnar is victorious by technical knockout at 1:48 in the second round.

If you want to see a video of the fight, then just click HERE.

At least the Georges St.-Pierre and Thiago Alves bout made up for the real short fight that the two heavyweights gave us.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hahaha... I can't believe I just said all those. But what the hell, I have a few ideas, and drafts, but I have to publish something for now. That matchup would've been more interesting if Frank Mir brought his A-game with him. But I guess he waited for too long for the opportunity to make Lesnar submit once again, that he got knocked out before he even knows it.

OH! Happy 20th birthday to a good friend of mine, Jack Aldrin Ko Sigua! You're a great dude, my friend!

Damn UFC is just too...

You're Definitely Better Off With Me

The 20th (until 21st) of June, my sleepless supposed-to-be-sleeping time was spent switching between radio stations, and my music player. I came across this show on the radio (think it's called, "Playground, with DJ Guile and The Big Daddy") on Magic 89.9, show's got nothing to do with what I want to talk about, but, they did play this song by Taylor Swift, "You Belong With Me" (click HERE so you could listen to this song, if you haven't heard of it yet). It's a pretty cool song, so I listened to the lyrics well. After hearing the song for the first time, I was all, like, "Sweet. Another 'I know you really like this far superior person than me but that person treats you like trash and I think you don't deserve the pain you're trying to endure with putting up with that far superior person at all so why not just settle with the one that really loves you and will care about you for the rest of your life? ME.' This song's totally awesome!", I really like the song! But the next one didn't interest me at all so I switched back to my music player. I have all of my songs played on random, so I won't know the next song that will play next. When I switched back and hit play, I heard this song by FM Static, "Defintely Maybe" (click HERE so you could listen to this song, if you haven't heard of it yet). But something hit me when the next song played. It's "Better Off" by Typecast (click HERE so you could listen to this song, if you haven't heard of it yet). I noticed the similarities between the three songs, the common message that those three songs bring about to the listeners. Come on, listen to them, I'll give you a moment (at least 'til you get to the next paragraph) to think about what that common message is.
Have an idea yet? Okay, I'll delay it no more.
Not all people... Wait, no.
Every animal has his own set of preferences, especially humans, we all know that. But not all preference could be supported by life. People can have parallel desires, but for every major desire, there is always at least one perpendicular to it. Nobody could get everything he desires without voiding another's desire. Exempli gratia,"1" could want "a", but "2" could also want "a" as much, so if "1" gets "a", that said desire of "2" of "a" could not be granted because "1" already has "a", or "a" could just simply not want "1" back, with that said, "a" wants the said desire of "1" to be void. You don't get it, do you? Well, it's okay, it's kind of an unclear explanation anyways. To make it all crystal clear to everybody, I'm talking about conflicting desires. Say, I want you, but you don't want me, instead you want him. Simple as that. I know, it happens all the time.
Specifically, I would like to emphasize on the conflicting desires when it comes to choosing your partner. Not only I, myself, is facing this kind of problem, but also other people, almost everybody, really. Now, I know that the world as we know it, is built, and meant, to be unfair, but mankind is just too stubborn to seek equality. Sometimes, I have considered providing equality to the ones who seek it, but what about equality for me? Must one give up the risk of not obtaining equality for oneself, for sustaining equality for another that seeks equality in him, considering that if he chooses to reciprocate, there'll be a great chance of satisfaction for both parties?
To break it down for most people, and to apply to my personal experiences, I, myself, has fallen to the clutches of the most destructive, and most common mental state, the rough opposite of evil ('evol', actually, you get it, don't you?), once (for quite a long time, perhaps too long), but on the way, it reciprocated, but in the form of other people. Yes, people. You heard, er, read, it right. No need to break it down for you some more, since it's already that obvious. See where I'm going with this? Going back to the common message of the three songs, you must really know what I mean here, by now.

Have you ever had a (HUGE!) crush on somebody you think you don't have a chance (I mean, NO CHANCE IN HELL, man, or so you thought) in having a successful relationship with, not even much to start with? Have you ever discovered that somebody else actually has a (huge, maybe) crush on you, either with nothing much to start with, or possesses a huge stepping stone into you but you don't (want to) really reciprocate to this (or these) person(s)'s feelings towards you? If you answered "yes" (or something close enough) to both questions, have you ever considered giving that (or any of those) somebody else a chance to get closer to you, trying to reciprocate as much as possible because you think it's the better choice?

I was trying not to think about any of those B.S.* at all then, but now that I've got this solid idea about this, and the proper inspirations for this post, I'm just going to talk about this now. And guess what, if I would've answered to all of those three questions I've just raised, I'd say "yes" to all. What about you?

Well, I just thought it's time to talk about B.S.* like that, since I'm already turning 19 in 24 days, and I've never had any actual experience at all in the actual [evil] matter (yet, I'm not really any innocent about it, or better yet, I know an F-ing lot about it already), YET.
* B.S. = Bull Sh-t
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Real serious stuff. Totally...

AWESOME.

MaFBEx 2009

June 21, me and a friend were supposed to go to the Manila Foods & Beverages Exposition 2009 at the World Trade Center. Yes, we did go, but things kind of didn't go as planned.

See, I was texting him through Chikka™ [Still the Best Way to Send Free Text Messages] (why pay for sending text messages when you can send them for free, right? LOL), about 11am, (he replies the non-cheap kind of way, texting back to my mobile phone, yes, using up SMS credits he paid for) basically we talked about the agenda for the day. Anyways, the last thing he told me in our convo was, he let me take care of deciding for the rendezvous time, while he set the point. Part of my last reply was "ETA 1 hour and 30 minutes." (it was about 1:30 in the afternoon). So I arrived at the rendezvous point a little late (3:15PM, Manila City Hall time), but he wasn't there yet. Okay, so he must've ran an unexpected errand, or something. I know for a fact that he will wait in the rendezvous point until further notice, so I went off for a while and checked out the Manila Day sale at SM Manila (damn, I just had to forget about checking the chocolates section, near the record bar), while waiting for an SMS to my mobile phone, stating that he's already at the point. Half an hour has passed (timecheck: 3:45PM) and I still haven't received a single SMS from him. So I decided to go back to the point and see for myself. He's still not there. So I decide to go to a nearby netcaf to send him a text message through Chikka again, and amuse myself while I was at it. So I did, but I still get no reply after a few minutes. But wait. I did not notice this small window that appeared right in the middle of the window after I sent further messages. It sorta said blahs about the buddy not recieving messages until the dude replies to prevent spam. So I was, "F!". I sent mom an SMS through Chikka, saying that I need her to pass me on some mobile phone credits so I could SMS the dude through my phone (yes, I was that cheap, in certain ways only, of course, I barely SMS, so I barely get my phone loaded up). Guess what, he replied in a minute saying (roughly translated to English) "it's about time, I was waiting for your response before I head off. I'm on my way now. Hehehe..." After some minutes, he texted me again that he's in the rendezvous point at that moment, so I headed off, out of the nearby netcaf. When we met up (timecheck: 4:40PM), we were thinking of the fastest way to get there (since the expo closes at 8:30pm that day, it was the last day by the way) while he was withdrawing some cash from his bank account through a nearby ATM. We ended up deciding to take the LRT 1 to Gil Puyat, then riding a jeepney to the curve near the WTC. We got there about 5:15PM. We took a look around, but there was nothing of much interest, we sort of expected the Japanese Noodles, but they weren't there, perhaps they only participate in the WoFEx (World Food Exposition) and AFEx (Asian Food Expo) later this year. We did get to eat a lot of the food samples from all the companies, even that company that makes the Vodka Cruiser! We got to sample the new Lychee flavor, which was not bad at all (but I still like blueberry, caramel mudshake, and ice, or plain vodka). We (actually, just me) only walked away with a big bag of coated green peas (timecheck: roughly 7PM). Because we found instant Indonesian mi goreng [click it to find out what it is] there, but didn't really satisfy our taste buds as much as the one we got used to consuming (which is kind of readily available in major supermarkets' international goods aisle), we walked all the way to SM Mall of Asia to get us some (don't even get me started on how many times I said the words "Tongkat Ali" [click the quoted words to find out what it is] while we were walking, LOL). Ahh, yes. SM Hypermarket's international goods aisles. But wait, no Mi Goreng? Damn it. Anyways, we ended up picking up some sweet and spicy barbecue flavored dry instant noodles (which tasted kind of close enough to Mi Goreng), a pack of 7 pieces for each one of us, and a pack of 6 of lechon paksiw flavored rice buddy for me. About 7:50PM, and it's time to head home. We walked from the mall, all the way to the nearest LRT1 station, the Libertad Station (again, I really don't know what's in this thing, but I kept on saying "Tongkat Ali" about every 5-10 minutes). About 8:40PM when we got to the station, and rode the train. About 9PM when we got to our stop, got off, and walked to our place, picking up a guitar string, and a few ice candies on the way. After we got to my ground zero, we settled down a bit, watched a little TV, then I prepared 4 out of the 7 in each of our packs for us to down in a few minutes. After we finished our food, we watched some more TV until about 12:30AM the next day, he had to leave that time since he has to go to work that day, later in the day. Much later.

So, that's about it for our "misadventures" for this year's MaFBEx. Thanks for having the patience to finish reading all this nonsense. You're totally...

Watching Us Die Tonight

Before anything else, I'd like to inform everyone that the blog title is taken from the title of the bonus track from Bullet For My Valentine's latest album "Scream Aim Fire", since I can't think of a decent title. Thought of a title, yes, but I think that title sucks so I decided to not publish this with that title. Damn BFMV kicks ass!

As a kid, I think my parents inadvertedly taught me to be Niccolo Machiavelli. They taught me that the end justifies the means (he [dad] says the opposite now, but he sure as hell taught me the opposite back then), and they want the "end" to be their offspring growing up to be good & productive citizens of this country, this world as well. But even if their means are quite effective, if I do say so myself, they're also quite inhumane. Well, let's just say I was raised to like a non-human animal destined to win in a talent contest. I get a tasty treat from my "trainers" whenever I do things right, but whenever I do something wrong, well... You know what happens.

Back then (first grade?), I made a promise to myself, a promise that involves something (very) long term. The plan was to take advatage of my resources (need I explain this part?), work my ass off at school, get the F out of this house as soon as I can, be successful (in my chosen field, with Pro Wrestling* aside), and when it's their turn to be the dependents (as much as possible, them being at my turf), I'd make them "feel" what they've done to me (in a way) when I was still their dependent (with pleasure), without sacrificing the urge of just being myself, and having fun. Everything was sailing smoothly, until I started realizing shit (includes my present religious beliefs). I started to expect something I should've been receiving since day 1, something that could've restituted all those fake smiles, half-meant laughs, and self-centered and self-supplied happiness, with pure joy, bliss even, something that I was deprived of my entire life.

*FEI (For Everyone's Information): When I was a little boy, aside from being a world-renowned chef and a Five-star hotel and/or restaurant owner, and an astronaut, I also wanted to become a professional wrestler in the WWE.

All those thoughts started to crowd my brain, hence the limited thinking efficiency, which made thinking take more time, or even made me make erroneous decisions. I have officially became stupid that time, even with my "brain (cerebral) atrophy", which was caused by lack of brain-stimulating activities and educational television programming (damn, I miss the Discovery Channels) aside.

Last month, I've started working on my new plan, which involves dealing with the crappy parents until I finish my studies and get the F out of this place, and just getting over the fact that I've given more than enough chances but they still wouldn't ever change. Long term plan: check. Short term plan is just trying to matter while I'm at it. I want to be more aware of my surroundings so I don't essentially get left out. I want to be more open, I want people to not be intimidated (afraid, perhaps?) to approach me. I want to be more outgoing, trying things that I was too much of an ass to try out then. I want to make other (yes, other) people happy with what I am and what I have to offer, in any means that I could, without expecting, anything in reciprocation. I want to be who I was back in [senior] high school, minus the "I'm just going to be myself explicitly. I don't care whether you'll like me or not, period." part (with some cases taken into consideration). I've started to commit myself to this by cutting my hair short,

and starting this blog, but I think the real start here would be the first day of school, this semester. CAN'T WAIT! Oh, wait, I kind of forgot about the problem I've recently had. Oh well, if I was to be given another (my last, I suppose) chance, I'd sure as hell be motivated to put all these things to action.

Woah, first post to be written completely (modified as I type, of course) in my notebook (which I'll tell you guys about later), while lying on my bed! That's so, F-in'...

Waiting to Die

WARNING:
Parental Advisory
Explicit Lyrics

Let's see, I just found more crap over my bed, most probably written last year, since I haven't been writing junk like this in a long while. Enjoy.
Just don't come back
Just in case I'll be dead
Fuck all those hopes
That you gave
Tearing apart my chest

Walk away
Baby, just drop yourself dead
Fuck all those lines
WAITING TO DIE
Yes people, there is supposed to be a message behind that little piece of literary crap I've just unveiled to the world. Truth is, I don't really know what comes to mind whenever I come up with short pieces of crap like that. Something just comes over me and my hands just start to write all by itself, most likely not intending to finish what they've started (perhaps because I always aim to come up with a song, and all that I come up with are little snippets of something). I just hope I could write even just one song. Hell, I'd totally be really contented with that, as long as it satisfies my taste for music.

Damn, this day sucks. Like, totally. It sucks so much, that I don't even want to rant about it here.

I would like to thank somebody (who I can't mention here, but I think if "that person" reads this, "that person" will know that "that person" is who I'm referring to) for talking to me about my out of the ordinary super crappy day & making me feel better (not to mention, making my day; here's a song for you, by the way. I know you've heard this before, but I just want to know that I really appreciate that short conversation you've done with me, in my own small little way), and Metallica, FM Static, & Bullet For My Valentine for writing songs that not only keeps me company and entertained all the time, but also teach me about even though life sucks this much, it's still worth living without a doubt.

Without those said entities, this day wouldn't be...

My First Stereo

"You used to sing me to sleep,
And always stood behind me.
You saw me off when I had to go,
My first true love was my first stereo."
That was an excerpt from the song "My First Stereo" by the band FM Static (click HERE to listen to the song on Mixpod.com), one of my favorite songs by the band. Like, seriously.

Yes, people... You heard it right... er.. read... Whatever! I remember my first portable radio... Like, wow. But that wasn't my "first love", as opposed to the said quote, but it's close enough! I've had my first MP3 player (it's really small! Like, it's dimensions are 1"x1.5"x0.3"! How small is that!) when I was in the first semester of my 2nd year in college, with my own allowance of course, and I love it! Haha! I used to sort of abuse the thing, like, I would use it in between classes, while eating, and even while I'm out with some peeps! I was using it almost all the time (classes not included), and charge it at school when it's out of juice! Hell, I could even charge the thing if I plug the thing in a computer in a shop! Charge it while swimming class is going on, and use it afterwards, the energy recovered from that 1 and a half-hour (plus pre-class and post-class showers) charge, is more than enough to keep me entertained with my music from after class, when I make my trip to (the nearby) SM Manila to get my weekly dose of black chocolate, even the whole trip until I get my butt home! I would even use the thing while it's charging here at home! I also remember all those times it broke, but it's a good thing that I knew basic stuff about electronics, so I was able to fix it myself all those times. I was abusing it that way until after early third year college, the time when I got my MP4 player (with a camera!). Since then, I was only using ye olde MP3 player as a removable portable mass data storage device (also known as a USB flash disk/drive). But since that mp4 player was a little big and heavy (WTF haha), I sort of (okay, I did, accidentally) dropped it in the toilet while I was taking a piss. I managed to fix it a bit, but it kinda got shorted out on the LCD display. So, yes, it turns on, but I need, either a new circuitboard and LCD screen and rewire everything from scratch, or just get a new LCD screen and wire it in. But I was always too lazy do do it, haha. And a new LCD screen will cost me a fortune! Plus, the battery got disconnected, from the circuit board. Pretty easy to fix, but I need to buy some lead for my (dad's, actually) little soldering iron. So, yeah, work is delayed until further notice. But despite that accident, at least I got a new phone to listen to my songs from! And yes, ye olde MP3 player stays as a removable portable mass data storage device.

Ahh, yes, good times. Bottom line is, I love this little mp3 player! My first true love IS my first ster-... MP3 player! I look forward to spending my forever with ye olde MP3 player!
xoxo (LOL)

Damn, that's so...

Gitara

Another piece of crap I found over my bed. Written by my buddy, Zoren Fernandez (my genius vocalist). It's supposed to be sung to the tune of "Gitara" by Parokya ni Edgar. Here's a link to its official music video, if you aren't familiar with the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoXP7jDxBRI. It's a Filipino song, by the way. If you can't speak Filipino, then I feel so sorry for you. JK!

Sing it instead of the first verse, and the first chorus. Hehe... Here it goes:

Bakit pa kailangan magbihis
Sa lamay din naman ang punta
Lagi din naman mag sisingit
Sa abuloy na kasama
Magdadala ako ng rosas
Sakali ma'y pagaalay sa'yo
Uupo na lang at aawit
Maghihintay ng susunod

Pagbibigyan na lang sila
Magkandarapa na humukay sa'yo
Ibabaon na lang kita
Sa lupa ko'ng ito
Ihahampas na lang
Ang gitara...

Yes, we were that crazy... If there would be more cheese over my bed, I'd post it as soon as possible to keep all you guys cheesified... Yeah... I don't think that's even a word, but Firefox didn't mark it as a misspelled word so, I guess it is.

I really can't believe "cheesified" is actually a word! Wow, that's so...

AWESOME.

Lick me. :p

Okay, before anything else, I really couldn't think of a good title for this post, so, I went a little random. HAHA. Okay. I have a question for everyone.

"Why do people have to get hurt, or have bad things happen to them, in order for them to learn about it?"

I already know the answer, but I just wanted know what people think, and would say. I have committed a number (huge number, haha) of mistakes since I got spawned into this world, and I do say that most of those mistakes aren't really mistakes at all. See, I have heard of this cool quote (forgot who've said it, though) that totally does make sense.

"If you learn from it, it's not a mistake."

Wow, if that's true, then I've only committed a few mistakes through the years! That's actually bad, since those times, I didn't learn anything, which kinda sucks because I should've.

A computer learns from input, so do we. And no matter what type of input it is, whether a programmer, a teacher, TV, even your own experience, we should learn something, right?

Well, I've just committed a major mistake. It's pretty major, trust me, so don't even ask, okay? Because I wouldn't be answering either.

This is so fun.... I could do this everyday (maybe).... Haha...

AWESOME.

Wow, who loves cheese?

WARNING: CHEESY CONTENT AHEAD!
Read at your own risk!

Look what I just dug up in my pile of trash on the upper part of my double-decker bed! Some literary piece of junk (maybe?) that I've written maybe a few months (October last year, If memory serves) ago. Higlhlight in between the quotation marks below to be able to read it, if you're that serious. Enjoy! (laugh out loud, if you must)

"
You'll never get what you want
You'll only get what you need
When all of your desires are grant
You'll only end up with greed
I really don't want no more
My life will always be blue
'Cause I never get what I want
A part of my life that's left out
It was you
All I wanted was YOU.
"
You HAVE been warned.
Oh yes, you have.... And don't blame me for making your life more cheesy as it is now, okay?

That was hilarious. I can't believe I wrote that. Haha. So bloody cheesy. I might be in OMGWTFROTFLOL (need I explain?) mode that time, but one thing's for sure. It's hella cheesy, that I wanna throw up beans and milkshakes.

Dang.

This as a follow-up to that "very inspirational bullcrap" (a big "thank you bizatch" to my brother from another mother for the term)? Now I'll get less audience. Then again, do I even have audience? Haha. Sure I do. And there's thousands in attendance, waiting for my next post. NOT. But just the thought that I was able to come up with yet another post. That's just...

AWESOME.

Human

I am human. Despite the fact that I can do things that most normal people couldn't, but how? I don't see how come people cannot do what another normal human being couldn't (except for things that is really exclusive upon gender, special conditions, and any other "abnormalities"), but with a little practice. Anyways, yesterday (23-May), it was about 2 in the morning. I was doing what I usually do that time, use the computer. I was supposed to go to school that day to get started on my enrollment process later that day. Then my dad comes home drunk. You know what that means. No, never any smashed belongings, no mindless shouting and waking up neighbors, and never any blood. He seems a little calmer than usual when drunk, but his patience is shortened. Enough about my dad, so he comes in and reminds me that I have to go to school later that day and tells me to go to sleep. No unusual thing there, I mean, I get that everyday. But here's something a little memorable that he said along with the usual lines that he say to persuade me to go to sleep earlier, "Lahat ng tao ay may limitasyon." (Everyone has a limitation) That kind of made me think a little, but I never said anything back, I just calmly turned off the computer, and headed to my room. Why is that line a little memorable, you ask? Because it made me write stuff in my little notebook (I'll tell you guys about this on later posts) blog about it the morning after. Haha. Just kidding. It really made me think, think about a human being's limitations. Why do people have limitations? What makes us say that we do have limitations? Maybe the reason why we do have these limitations, is because we recognize the existence of these limitations. If we knew no boundaries, we could move mountains, and stuff. We just have to bloody believe in ourselves, darn it. Believing that you can't do something is a lot worse than failing to do that something. Trying, risking failure, and believing that you could succeed is hell of a lot better than cowering in a corner, whining about why you aren't a better man. If we just believe in ourselves, we could do anything. But that's just my optimistic side speaking. The reality is, we can't do everything. We can't be at two places at the same time, we couldn't behead ourselves and live for days, we couldn't even please everyone, which is possible, but is just impossible, and tons of other junk like that.

With that, I leave you guys with two of my just-made-up-but-would-totally-make-sense-if-you-really-think-about-it quotes:
"We are human, but not JUST human."
"Believe in ourselves and we could be superhuman, but it's impossible to be omnipotent."

Holy crap I just wrote my 2nd post!

To Blog or Not To Blog

Yay! My first blog post! Woah, woah, let's not get too excited there. It's just first post, nobody cares.

Anyways, yes people I intend to be a more productive internet user now. I will try and come up with blog posts (that people will not care about anyways, haha, that just sounded too negative) not only for my own viewing pleasure, but also for all my loving and supportive fans (yeah, right.) out there.

Anyways, I already have an idea for a big deal post, but everything isn't ready yet (it seems that I have misplaced my USB Bluetooth dongle, so I can't upload photos from my phone) so it has to wait, and I'm still working on the "text" part. I'm not really that creative (yeah, totally) so I guess it'll take a while. These words are just mere thoughts from the exterior of my brain (yeah, like are all blogs supposed to come from there anyways?) so it's not really that hard.

Wow, that was fun.

-------------------------------------------

I really want to start doing stuff that I'm not really used to, like blogging! You can tell by now that I'm really serious about this. Well, yes, I was. And that's not all there is to it. I think there would be a time that I will change myself, but still being me. I don't know. But I'm sure it'll be soon enough, since I already started. Haha. I just want to be not used to this kind of me, the kind that isn't really fit for the real world. So, better adjust now when it's still kinda easy, right? Cool.

AWESOME.
